Motion detectors are considered a crucial component in burglar alarm systems. Its key function is to detect movements of objects and people, in order to keep the properties secured from intruders. Motion detectors are usually installed indoors, above the doorway or in a corner. Once movement is detected by the device, it will send a signal to the control panel, which will then result in an alarm.

There are many types of motion detectors in the market. Some use microwave technology to detect movement of objects, while some use infrared technology to detect changes in heat signatures. Some motion detectors may employ both technologies in order to increase accuracy!
