Hard Disk

Hard Disk (HDD or Hard Disk) for surveillance systems are similar to those used with PC computers. However, it records information using Linux based system with the ability to access data or revolutions per minute (RPM) of 5,400-7,200. Two most popular brands for surveillance hard disks are 1) Western Digital (WD) and 2) Seagate.

1. Western Digital: Very popular in the market because 1) easy to find, 2) uses low energy and current and 3) produces little heat which is suitable for long hours of operation. Recommended models: Green and purple.

 2. Seagate: These hard disks also use low energy but the models recommended for CCTV systems are fairly expensive and hard to find in the market. We recommend the SV-35 and the Pipeline models.
